“Cocktail” Takes A Robust Start At Box Office On Day One"
“Cocktail”has taken a robust start at box office. Film was expected to do well in multiplexes and not much was expected in single screens. Film has sprung a sort of surprise with mammoth numbers in multiplexes and not so bad numbers in single screens.
Film registered occupancy of 90-95% in all high end multiplexes across the country in Gurgaon, Noida, Bangalore, Kolkata and Ahmedabad. Film also did well in other multiplexes with 85-90% opening. On all India basis, film had 75% opening in multiplexes. Single screens were slow off the block in the noon shows but occupancy rose slightly subsequently later in the day. Single screens had 35-40% occupancy across the country.
As per early estimates, film collected 10.25 cr nett on Day one which can go higher if night shows perform well all over and that is higher than any trade pundit predicted for the film. Now tomorrow is very important for the film as a good growth can put it in big bracket with 35 cr nett plus weekend collections. As of now, film is expected to collect 33 cr nett in 1st weekend.
